After some delays, beloved Maria’s Pizza is set to reopen within the next week

After some delays, Maria’s Pizza, 5025 W. Forest Home Ave., is set to open within the next week.

The popular pizza spot closed on June 26, 2022 and was set to reopen in January under new owner Brian Francis.

Francis said the delays in reopening have been due to the health department requiring some changes in the kitchen, which he has now taken care of.

Francis and the Maria’s Pizza team having been hosting “practice runs” with family and friends to make sure the opening date, which hasn’t been set yet, runs smoothly.

“We hope to see everyone back soon, especially those who have been coming to Maria’s Pizza for generations,” Francis said.

When it does open, Maria’s Pizza will be carry-out only and serve pizza, garlic bread and garlic cheese bread. It eventually will be a full-service restaurant, although a date for that has not been set.
