Over 1,000 customers without power as February tornado touches down

MADISON, Wis. — Thousands of power outages are being reported as a February tornado touched down in southern Wisconsin Thursday night.

As of 9 p.m. Thursday, 1,016 Alliant Energy customers were without power statewide, including 391 in Dane County and 443 in Green County. There were also 167 customers without power in Jefferson County.

Over 670 We Energies customers were without power statewide, including 10 in Jefferson County. Nearly 170 customers in Milwaukee were without power.

Madison Gas and Electric reported 16 customers were without power, mostly in the Spring Harbor area.

As of 8: 15 p.m. Thursday, Alliant Energy was reporting 414 customers without power in Dane County and 447 without power in Green County. There were also 346 customers without power in Jefferson County.

Madison Gas and Electric was reporting 696 customers without power, mostly in the Spring Harbor neighborhood. Power was expected to be restored around 11 p.m.

We Energies was reporting 645 customers out of service in Wisconsin, including 11 in Jefferson County.
