Local Nurse Practitioner, Jennifer Lange, Shares Her Journey Towards a DNP at UW-Milwaukee

Jennifer Lange, a Family Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of experience, is studying for her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UW-Milwaukee). Lange’s background includes medical-surgical nursing, primary care, urgent care, and occupational medicine. She works at an SSM Employee Wellness Clinic, focusing on preventive medicine, family practice, and employee wellbeing. Lange also teaches as a Certified Academic Clinical Nurse Educator and is a Clinical Instructor at UW-Madison School of Nursing.

Lange decided to pursue a DNP to open up future leadership and teaching opportunities. She chose UW-Milwaukee for its community reputation and the flexibility of its online program. Lange’s nursing career started in 2007 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2011 and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in 2016. She plans to complete her DNP in May 2024.

Lange spoke positively about her experience at UW-Milwaukee’s DNP program, praising the online format and the faculty’s dedication. She enjoyed the opportunity to conceptualize and complete a project, which focuses on population health and improving nursing practice.
