WTMJ-AM (620) restructures its on-air lineup, adding shows with Kristin Brey, others

WTMJ-AM (620) is tweaking much of its on-air lineup, adding some new but familiar voices and slicing the middle of its daytime programming into smaller bites.

Among the newish voices on WTMJ-AM are Kristin Brey, a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel video opinion columnist whose “As Goes Wisconsin” news/humor show had aired on Civic Media’s network of news/progressive talk stations around the state; Pam Jahnke, who as “The Fabulous Farm Babe” brings her “Mid-West Farm Report” from Civic Media; OnMilwaukee.com co-founder and “civic entrepreneur” Jeff Sherman; WTMJ-TV (Channel 4) reporter Julia Fello; and former WDJT-TV (Channel 58) news anchor Jessica Tighe.

The additions and reshuffling continue WTMJ-AM’s veering away from conservative talk programming, which began when Charles Sykes left the station at the end of 2016 and continued when afternoon host Jeff Wagner retired at the end of last year.

“Mid-West Farm Report” starts the mornings off at 5 a.m., with “Wisconsin’s Morning News” with Vince Vitrano and Erik Bilstad continuing from 6 to 9 a.m.
