Our snowless streak might be coming to an end. Forecasts show the Milwaukee area could get 3 to 5 inches of snow this morning, though most accumulation is expected north of I-94. The high will reach around 36 degrees later in the day — we’re on track to have our warmest winter ever.

The latest twist in redistricting

The state Supreme Court has said it would implement new legislative maps if the Legislature and Democratic Gov. Tony Evers couldn’t find consensus, but it looks like the two sides might reach an agreement after all.

Molly Beck explains why Democrats voted against Evers’ map proposal, which Republicans approved on Tuesday. Democrats see the move as the latest effort by GOP lawmakers to hold onto as many seats as possible, and they want the court to finish its process.

The court is considering a handful of proposed plans to redraw legislative boundaries, most of which could dramatically reduce the number of seats Republicans hold in each chamber and in some cases, shift the majority to Democrats.
