One man is dead after being stabbed at a home near 38th and Congress Tuesday evening.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the stabbing occurred around 4:05 p.m. on Sept. 17.
The Milwaukee Fire Department told TMJ4 that they responded to the area for a “report of people down.”
There, they found a 35-year-old who was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving measures, according to police.
It is unclear what led up to the stabbing. A 54-year-old has been taken into custody.
Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
Neighbors tell TMJ4 that the neighborhood is pretty calm with little disturbance.
Nevaeh Kennedy works just down the block from where the stabbing happened.
She had just started her shift when police started to arrive.
“It’s really quiet around here so I’m shocked that it happened,” said Kennedy.
As police try and figure out what led to the stabbing, Kennedy tells TMJ4 that she just wants to see the violence stop in the city.
