A variety of factors can make a good employer — workplace culture, benefits, flexible hours, hybrid work policies, to name a few.
In Wisconsin, 75 companies seem to tick at least a few of these boxes for their employees: these companies were among nearly 1,300 nationwide to be named to Forbes’ 2024 best employers ranking .
The study, conducted with the market research firm Statista , compiled the list of 1,294 organizations after surveying more than 160,000 employees working for U.S. companies. Only companies with at least 500 employees were eligible for the list, and the survey data collected over three years was then put into a scoring system. Greater weight was given to the more recent data and the responses from current employees in the state.
Some Wisconsin companies on the list, like Milwaukee-based Aurora Advocate Health , employ well over 100,000 people. However, a few of the smaller, local employers that made the ranking may come as more of a surprise, such as the Sheboygan Area School District , with just over a thousand employees.
