The Milwaukee Bucks are like a deer in the headlights amid a woeful 2-7 start to the season.
The Bucks are coming off a loss to the New York Knicks, 116-94, at Madison Square Garden, dropping them to 1-5 on the road. They will face a tough challenge at home against the Boston Celtics on Sunday.
Milwaukee is struggling in its first full season under Doc Rivers, who took over the team in January after the firing of Adrian Griffin. Fans have been calling for the dismissal of the 63-year-old Rivers, who has been chastised for failing to win with the Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, however, came to the defense of the former Coach of the Year.
“Doc is doing his best, he’s trying,” said Antetokounmpo in a video posted by the Bucks. “He’s trying to figure out the rotation; he’s giving us the best speech possible. Changing our defensive plan, changing our offensive plan.
“He’s trying to adjust, make something happen, create a spark. You know I give him props on that.”
