Snow was expected to continue across parts of Wisconsin through Thursday afternoon as weather warnings remained in effect, forecasters say.
Slippery roads are expected to complicate road conditions over northeast Wisconsin, according to the National Weather Service.
The wintry weather comes as a storm moves eastward from the middle Mississippi and Ohio Valleys to the East Coast Thursday, the service reported. The storm has prompted both winter weather warnings and advisories in several Wisconsin counties including Waushara, Manitowoc, Door and Kewaunee.
The system is forecasted to bring light to moderate snow through late Friday with higher totals for some parts of the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley regions. Northeast wind is also expected to produce lake-enhanced snow in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan’s northeastern coast.
“Use winter driving precautions and remain aware for slippery stretches and sudden changes in road conditions. Slow down and allow extra space between other vehicles,” the National Weather Service warned.
