‘Slow down, increase following distance’: Wisconsin officials remind motorists to be cautious on wintry roads

PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin Fire Department is urging safe driving as they were on the scene of a single-vehicle accident on I-43.

In a Facebook post by the Port Washington Fire/Rescue, a Honda Odyssey is seen stuck off the side of the road as the snowy conditions caused problems for drivers throughout the day.

β€œThe first significant snowfall of the season is always a great opportunity to remind yourself to slow down, increase your following distance and stay alert for icy patches on the roadway,” the post said.
