Everyone has different things out of the ordinary that they like to celebrate and throw a party for the occasion. Maybe even do some gambling. For example, my friends and I used to have WWE pay-per-view parties and we would bet on the matches.
One of the most unique party and gambling events I ever heard of is something one of my co-workers does. He and his friends host a party for the annual Scripps National Spelling Be. Yes, they bet on the contestants.
That event got me thinking of spelling bees back in the day when I was in school. They weren’t a great experience for me. I wasn’t a good speller (thank goodness for spell check) so I was knocked out after only a couple of rounds.
I see these kids on TV and they blow my mind with their spelling skills. I haven’t even heard of most of the words, let allow being able to spell them. Of course, many adults brag about crushing it back when they were in school but can they prove it?…
