MILWAUKEE — An acclaimed New York City choreographer is working to build opportunities and collaboration between dancers in Brew City and the Big Apple.
Peter Stathas returned to his roots in Milwaukee to share his dance company’s production of “From Where We Ascend/Wake.” Danceworks hosted the performances at the end of April.
“Milwaukee still is a hometown base for me, even though I bounce around New York City so much,” Stathas said. “I’ve always wanted to at least insert myself as somebody in the arts scene in Milwaukee. I’m very connected to the people I work with — they are part of who I am — so coming and bringing them here lets them get more entrenched in who I am and where I came from.”…
