MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Two Milwaukee Police Department officers, one of whom is in critical condition, were unexpectedly shot while responding to an active incident on Thursday night, and authorities say a known suspect is being sought.
According to a release from Milwaukee PD, the incident began when officers were called to North 25th Street and West Garfield Avenue around 9:20 p.m. on June 26. The call reported a suspect with a weapon who was allegedly ‘firing shots.’

Shortly after, two officers were approaching the scene when they were ‘unexpectedly’ shot at in the alley of the 2200 block of North 24th Place. Both officers were hit and were not able to return fire at the suspect.
It was not stated in the release whether or not the shots came from the initial suspect or another, but it was noted that authorities are currently looking for a ‘known suspect.’…
