WEST ALLIS, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with Piggly Wiggly Midwest announced on Wednesday that they have collected a record-breaking amount of food donations this year at the Wisconsin State Fair.
According to a release from Piggly Wiggly, through a partnership with Hunger Task Force, Milwaukee’s only free and local food bank, fairgoers were able to take advantage of a special promotion allowing them to enter the Wisconsin State Fair for just $5 on July 31 as long as they donated two cans of healthy fruits or vegetables.

Through the special promotion, Piggy Wiggly Midwest officials say they collected a record-breaking 59,000 pounds of donated food, 21,000 more pounds than what was received during the promotion in 2024.
The 59,000 pounds of food collected will reportedly help fill the pantry shelves and dinner tables throughout the state during what is said to be a time of growing need…
