‘A safe place to stay’: Dozens find sanctuary at Red Cross emergency shelters

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Some flood victims are not able to stay in their homes because of the flood damage. That’s why the Red Cross has set up two emergency shelters, one at Holler Park in Milwaukee and the other at the Washington Park Senior Center.

Red Cross Regional Director Jennifer Warren tells us that 31 people stayed at Holler Park Sunday night, Aug. 10 and eight stayed at Washington Park.

“People that come to our shelter can have a safe place to stay. We’re providing food, water, basic hygiene kits, which is shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste,” said Warren…
