A Wisconsin pizza factory worker has died after being crushed by a robotic machine while working in a horrifying freak accident.
Robert Cherone, from Elkhorn, was on shift at the Palermo’s pizza factory in West Milwaukee on Wednesday morning when the fatal accident occurred. Police and firefighters rushed to the frozen pizza factory after receiving reports of an industrial accident at approximately 6.36am.
First responders attempted “life-saving measures” but the 45-year-old was declared dead on scene, West Milwaukee Police Department said in a press release. The events leading up to Cherone’s death remain unclear, including how he became trapped in the robotic machinery.
