MILWAUKEE — The CEO of Milwaukee Health Services is pleading for urgent action after two dental employees were killed in separate shootings within just six months.
Two Lives Lost
The victims were identified as Dr. Akintunde Bowden, a dentist, and dental hygienist Kamonti McFarlane. Both had served the community for years before their tragic deaths.
Dr. Bowden was killed in April 2025 following a confrontation with a neighbor over loud music. On Monday, September 29, McFarlane was shot and killed in what authorities described as a domestic-related incident.
“Yes, we lost two of our team members, but without a doubt, they dedicated their lives all the way to the end,” said Dr. Tito Izard, President and CEO of Milwaukee Health Services.
