A tragic car accident has left a local high school student with fatal injuries. The Nicolet High School District announced that tenth-grader Grant Freeze will not survive the injuries he sustained from a collision that occurred on Wednesday. Police reported that the accident happened on Pioneer Road near Klug Lane when Freeze’s SUV crossed the centerline and collided with a dump truck, according to FOX6 News.
With a heavy heart, the district relayed a message from the Freeze family, stating that their son’s organs will be donated. Caught off guard by a tragedy that no training could prepare them for, the world of those close to Grant will never be the same. Furthermore, the driver of the dump truck, a 57-year-old man from Cedarburg, also suffered severe injuries and was hospitalized.
In a statement obtained by CBS58, Grant Freeze was not only a beloved student but also a star swimmer for Nicolet High School and Ozaukee Aquatics. The teen had recently achieved a milestone in his swimming career, qualifying for an upcoming World Tournament and a National Championship this winter. His mother’s social media post expressed both grief and pride as she stated, “we know that Grant’s life is ending but his story isn’t, and we will find a way to celebrate and continue Grant’s legacy.”…
