UNION GROVE, Wis. – A Racine County judge sentenced Kristi Lichtenwalner on Monday, Oct. 6, to ten years in prison plus an additional ten years of extended supervision in connection with a fatal, drunk driving crash in October 2022. Lichtenwalner was also ordered to pay $11,545.57 in restitution.
Lichtenwalner pleaded guilty in August to just one of four charges against her – homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle (2nd+). Three other criminal counts against her were dismissed.

What we know:
According to the criminal complaint, deputies from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched late on Oct. 2, 2022, to a rollover crash on Durand Avenue just east of 67th Drive. When the deputies arrived, they found an SUV lying on its roof in the ditch — approximately ten feet off the road. The owner of the SUV was lying about 30 feet from the vehicle unresponsive.
