On Sunday afternoon, firefighters raced to extinguish an apartment fire in Milwaukee and rescued a man from his third-floor residence. The Milwaukee Fire Department received a call around 3:20 p.m. and promptly responded to the blaze near Holton and Lloyd streets, as reported by WISN. According to Battalion Chief Brian Moore, the proximity of a nearby firehouse, just three blocks away, enabled a quick response from emergency crews.
Fire officials arrived to find fire in the attic and a man unconscious in his kitchen on the second floor, with the fire believed to have started on the third floor of the five-unit building. The unidentified individual, approximately 50 years old and with a disability, was rescued and subsequently regained consciousness once outside the burning structure.
