1. Student dies after being shot 2 blocks from Milwaukee high school

At 11:30 a.m. Friday, an Assata High School student left the building as part of an early dismissal. That student was shot on the 4600 block of N. Hopkins Street. The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) said that “it appears the suspects approached the victim in [an] attempt to rob the victim when shots were fired. The victim and a suspect were subsequently shot.” The student-victim died from his injuries.
