Family of Brookfield Man Found Dead Near Golf Course Demands Transparency as NAACP Raises Concerns Over Police Handling

BROOKFIELD, WISCONSIN — The family of 39-year-old Torrance Medley, along with representatives from the Waukesha and Milwaukee branches of the NAACP, is demanding answers from authorities after Medley was found dead near the Brookfield Hills Golf Course earlier this month. The family’s attorney alleges they have been “mistreated” by both the Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s Office and the City of Brookfield Police Department.

At a Friday news conference held near the site where Medley’s body was discovered, attorney William Sultan said the family has not received basic information that is typically provided in death investigations.

Attorney Claims Family “Mistreated” and Investigation Lacks Transparency

Sultan accused authorities of prematurely concluding the death was a suicide without completing a full forensic investigation.

“Regardless of what the ultimate conclusion is here, the family deserves to know what actually happened,” he said. “Death investigations are done by forensic pathologists, not by police officers.”…
