Milwaukee Residents Urged to Take Precautions as Dangerous Cold Weather Approaches This Weekend

The City of Milwaukee Health Department (MHD) has issued a warning about extremely cold temperatures expected from late Friday night through Sunday morning. The National Weather Service forecasts wind chills as low as -29°F. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for Milwaukee. The city has extended hours at warming centers to provide shelter.

MHD advises residents to limit time outdoors, wear layers, and cover exposed skin to prevent frostbite and hypothermia. People should drive carefully due to possible snow and ice. Residents are encouraged to check on older adults, children, and people without housing.
