High-speed pursuit in Wisconsin ends with two arrests

(WFRV) — Two people were arrested Tuesday night after leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit that reached speeds of up to 140 mph in southeastern Wisconsin.

Authorities said the pursuit began around 9:45 p.m. after a stolen vehicle was reported traveling northbound on Interstate 94 at speeds exceeding 130 mph. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Chicago, and multiple law enforcement agencies assisted as the pursuit continued across county lines.

According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were asked to assist the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol as officers observed the vehicle weaving through traffic at extremely high speeds. Near State Highway 11, a tire deflation device was deployed, causing the vehicle’s right front tire to lose air. Despite the damage, the vehicle continued fleeing at speeds between 60 and 70 mph.

The vehicle exited I-94 at State Highway 20 and traveled through several roadways before attempting to re-enter the interstate. At that point, a Racine County deputy executed a PIT maneuver, causing the vehicle to spin into a ditch…
