In a display of courage and professional valour, the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office recently commended several members of its team, alongside local dispatchers and a brave young citizen for their roles in de-escalating a life-threatening domestic violence incident. According to a Facebook post from the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office, the turmoil began with a 911 call from a child reporting the incident on October 24.
The child’s intelligent call set into motion a rapid response coordinated by multiple dispatchers. Grafton Police Sergeant Eernisse and Officer Brock were on the scene promptly ensuring the child’s safety and confronting the danger. Gunfire rang out as they entered the residence, but they managed a strategic withdrawal, issuing commands which led to the suspect’s secure apprehension without additional injury.
