GREENFIELD, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin found one man dead in his home Sunday afternoon following reports of a chemical-like smell and a fire that appeared to have extinguished itself.
According to a release from the Greenfield Police Department, officers, along with Greenfield and Milwaukee firefighters, responded at 1:26 p.m. to a single-family home on the 4600 block of South 45th Street for reports of a chemical-type smell coming from the home.
Officials say the caller who reported the incident at the time was unable to make contact with the resident of the home. Responding personnel entered the home and found the 61-year-old resident dead in a bedroom of his home.
