As the calendar turned to 2026, the Milwaukee area welcomed some of its newest residents. Just as fireworks faded, Aurora Health Care announced the arrival of its first baby of the year, Alana Rubí, born at 5:02 a.m. at Aurora West Allis Medical Center. As reported by FOX 6 Now, Parents Nereida Tejeda and Ramon Pizano ushered in the New Year with their newborn weighing 9 lbs. 5 oz. and measuring 22.25 inches.
According to CBS58, Dr. Frank Belmonte, senior vice president of the Women and Children’s service line at Advocate Health, part of Aurora Health Care, said, “Every birth is special for our labor and delivery teams.” He added, “On New Year’s Day, we feel an extra burst of excitement as we welcome the very first babies of the year.” Across Wisconsin, Aurora Health Care’s 11 maternity hospitals were ready to meet the first newborns of 2026.
The Authentic Birth Center welcomed its first New Year’s baby at 12:48 a.m., a girl weighing 6 lbs. 13 oz. and measuring 20.5 inches. According to WISN, the center’s social media post, “Authentic Baby #1423 rang in the New Year with joy!” The birth marked a happy start to 2026 for the family…
