Get a taste of Smokin’ Jack’s BBQ, which is open for carry-out on East Side

Last October, we shared the news that Smokin’ Jack’s BBQ owner Jack Holt had signed a lease on the former Izzy Hops space at 2311 N. Murray Ave., and planned to open his first full-service barbecue restaurant.

While construction on the new restaurant is still in process, Holt has decided to open the restaurant for carry-out service. Limited dine-in service is also available, with the grand opening planned for Friday, Jan. 23, beginning at 11 a.m.

For now, guests can get a first taste of the Smokin’ Jack’s expanded menu, which includes appetizers like house-cut Parmesan Truffle Fries and Smoked Chicken Wings along with USDA Prime Smoked Brisket, Smoked Rib Rips, Elote and Korean BBQ Chicken and Jamaican Jerk BBQ sandwiches. Holt is also previewing desserts like house-made Banana Pudding and craft cocktails, including an Apple Cider Mule, BBQ Punch and Mezcal Negroni…
