Aldi grocery store closes on Milwaukee’s north side

MILWAUKEE — The Aldi grocery store on Hopkins St. near Sherman Blvd. and Custer Ave. permanently closed on Sunday.

The company cited slower foot traffic as a reason for the closure, and said all employees were offered a transfer to a nearby store.

“This decision is a part of a strategic effort to better allocate resources and continue providing a high-quality shopping experience at our nearby stores,” an ALDI spokesperson said in a statement…
