$200K bond set for Milwaukee man accused of hitting, killing man at bus stop while fleeing police

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — The man charged in connection to a deadly hit-and-run over the summer was in Milwaukee County Court Wednesday for his initial appearance.

Thirty-two-year-old Charles Chipley is accused of hitting and killing a man who was waiting for the bus while Chipley was fleeing police.

According to the criminal complaint, police tried to stop Chipley for excessive window tint and a license plate that didn’t match the car. Chipley took off, eventually crashing into a bus stop near Sherman and Fond du Lac — that’s when 55-year-old Lorenzo Martin was killed…
