MILWAUKEE — The former owner of a prenatal care company on Milwaukee’s northwest side will spend over 9 years in prison for healthcare fraud.
32-year-old Precious Cruse owned the now-closed “Caring Through Love” near W. Fond du Lac Avenue and W. Baldwin Street in 2021.
Federal prosecutors accused Cruse of exploiting pregnant women and young mothers by “luring them into the company’s prenatal care coordination program with kickbacks in the form of free baby items such as car seats, pack ‘n plays, diapers, and baby wipes. Once enrolled, Cruse’s company used the women’s personal information to submit claims to Medicaid for services that were never provided”…
