Another Wisconsin facility announces closure, dozens of jobs impacted

WISCONSIN (WFRV) — A global manufacturer of advanced materials and packaging solutions announced plans to shut down a Wisconsin facility, resulting in dozens of layoffs.

According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Tekni-Plex will permanently close its facility located on North 64th Street in Milwaukee.

The closure is scheduled for April 30, 2026, with layoffs beginning March 27. A total of 39 employees are expected to be impacted.

Corporate officials said some employees may have potential “bumping rights,” meaning more senior third-shift workers could displace junior employees as operations wind down. Any employees who are bumped would be terminated and become eligible for severance as of March 27…
