After a successful soft opening this past weekend, Pedro’s South American Food will officially welcome guests to its first North Shore location at 6969 N. Port Washington Rd. on Friday, Feb. 6, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The new Glendale restaurant marks the second brick-and-mortar operation for Pedro Tejada, who also owns La Cocina Del Sur Empanada Bar (701 E. Keefe Ave.), along with the popular Pedro’s South American Food truck and two food carts. Together, both the mobile and permanent concepts have helped Tejada build a loyal following for his empanadas and selection of approachable dishes inspired by Ecuador, Argentina, Colombia, Chile and beyond.
If the building looks familiar, that’s because it was formerly home to Dr. Dawg, a longtime tenant that relocated to Thiensville last summer. For Tejada, who has catered extensively and operated his food truck throughout North Shore communities like Bayside and Fox Point, the vacancy felt like a long-awaited opportunity…
