An early-morning emergency response along Milwaukee’s Kinnickinnic River ended with the recovery of a body near South 1st Street and West Becher Street on Thursday, just east of I‑43/94. Crews arrived around 5:30 a.m. and could be seen searching the riverbank as the sun came up. What investigators say

Authorities told reporters they are investigating the latest recovery and have not released identifying information, as WISN Channel 12 Milwaukee noted. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office typically determines the cause and manner of death in cases like this, a role outlined on the office’s website. At this early stage, officials have not posted a detailed public statement about the incident.
