A 16-year-old boy was shot Monday night on Milwaukee’s north side in the 3600 block of North Port Washington Avenue, then taken to a local hospital with injuries police described as non-life-threatening. Milwaukee police say detectives are working the case, and by late evening the street was partly wrapped in yellow tape as officers combed the area. Neighbors reported seeing squad cars clustered on the block and a stretch of the roadway sealed off while investigators worked.
