Father sentenced for leaving his 6 children in storage locker

MILWAUKEE — Charles Dupriest was sentenced to five years in prison and five years of extended supervision after he was convicted of leaving his six children in a storage locker and possessing a gun as a felon.

He was convicted of nine charges in a jury trial in January — five counts of felony child neglect, three counts of misdemeanor child neglect and one felony count of possession of a gun by a felon.

The five-year sentence in prison will be for possessing a gun as a felon. He received prison sentences of 18 months for each of the five felony child neglect counts, and those will all be served concurrently. He will then have five years of extended supervision…
