Milwaukee teachers’ union rallies against MPS job cuts

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Ahead of Thursday night’s Milwaukee Public Schools Board meeting, the union representing Milwaukee’s teachers protested the job cuts put forward by the district’s superintendent.

The union has not yet reached a deal with the district and doesn’t support the cutting of about 260 jobs.

The district has a $46 million budget gap to close and superintendent Brenda Cassellius says the cuts will save the district about $30 million…
