Eden Prairie woman charged with attempted arson

An Eden Prairie woman has been charged with attempted first-degree arson after prosecutors say she tried to set fires inside a home while two young children were inside.

Dijiu Zhang, 42, was charged Monday in Hennepin County District Court with attempted first-degree arson of a dwelling and misdemeanor domestic assault. Her first court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The charges stem from a May 29 welfare check at an Eden Prairie home, according to the criminal complaint. Officers were told before arriving that a man was screaming for help and that a woman was screaming while dragging a child into the house…
