University of Minnesota golf course likely to become housing development

A pristine piece of property less than 10 minutes from downtown Minneapolis is set to be converted from a greenspace into a mixed-use development with housing.

The University of Minnesota’s golf course, named after a coach who took the school’s program to two conference titles, closed at the end of 2024, and now university officials have picked a developer; if approval comes from its Board of Regents, the property will be sold and converted.
