What started as a chaotic fight on Boone Avenue in Brooklyn Park ended with four people in handcuffs and a handgun off the street, according to police.
Brooklyn Park officers were called Monday evening to the 6300 block of Boone Avenue North for a report of a fight involving a group of people. Witnesses told police a woman in the crowd was waving a handgun. Officers later recovered a firearm that matched what witnesses described. Detectives are still interviewing witnesses and processing evidence, and the department says the case remains under active investigation.
In a Facebook update from the Brooklyn Park Police Department, officials said the initial call described an altercation involving about eight to ten people. A group believed to be tied to the gun took off on foot before officers arrived, according to the post.
