Twin Cities music lovers know there’s no shortage of ways to see their favorite artists around town. From stadium shows to acoustic sets to music festivals, there are plenty of places to see a live show—except, until recently, a true, large-scale outdoor amphitheater. This meant some tours that needed somewhere between Target Field (which seats some 40,000, depending on configurations) and Surly Festival Field (close to 6,000) might have skipped past us in favor of greener pastures.
But now, the new Mystic Lake Amphitheater, in Shakopee, hits the 19,000-cap sweet spot, giving acts of all genres a place to perform in our sunniest months…
