Suspect in custody following hourslong standoff in North St. Paul

A man is in custody following an hourslong standoff in North St. Paul on Saturday afternoon.

The North St. Paul Police Department said at around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of South Avenue East for a 33-year-old man who was known to have access to a gun and was making threats toward a family member.

When police arrived, they tried to make contact with the man, but were unsuccessful. Officers created a perimeter around the home, authorities said…
