The Maple Grove Community Organization has chosen Harland Anderson, a 50-year Maple Grove resident and a Vietnam vet, as this year’s Maple Grove Days Parade Grand Marshal.
Anderson was born in Cokato and spent his younger years growing up in Dassel, where he lived for the first 18 years of his life. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years, including time stationed in Vietnam and Thailand. It was during his service overseas that he met the love of his life, Susie.
Following his military service, he returned to Minnesota to settle in the Maple Grove area. Over the years he has called a few places home, including a residence near Eagle Lake, and today he lives right in the heart of the parade route, an ideal spot for enjoying community traditions…
