After a decade of planning and six years of construction, a $1 billion expansion at Abbott Northwestern Hospital has been finished.

The new 10-story tower features smart technology, more patient rooms and operating rooms. They also planned for it to be eco-friendly and neighborhood-friendly by moving the building so it wouldn’t impact an elementary school next door…
