Minnesota Man Fails to Show for Sentencing in Fatal Police Chase

A St. Paul, MN (MinnesotaNow) – An arrest warrant has been issued for a Minnesota man who killed another man while fleeing from police.

Man fails to appear for sentencing

30-year-old Lorenzo Leontay Washington was scheduled to be sentenced today for his conviction on a charge of fleeing police resulting in death, but he failed to show up in court. The Minneapolis man entered a guilty plea to the charge in March and was allowed to remain free until his sentencing on $300,000 bond.

The conviction carries a presumptive prison sentence with a maximum punishment of 40 years behind bars.
