Minneapolis woman sentenced for toddler’s methadone overdose death

MINNEAPOLIS — A 57-year-old Minneapolis woman was sentenced last week to more than four years in prison for the death of a 23-month-old girl who ingested methadone while in her care.

A Hennepin County judge sentenced Tracey Andrea Flex to 52 months for second-degree manslaughter and a concurrent 23-month term for child endangerment. Flex pleaded guilty to both counts in June.

An initial court order temporarily stayed the child endangerment sentence, but the court later issued an amended order executing both sentences concurrently at Flex’s request…
