Bloomington gunfire may have been over narcotics, chief says

Three people were arrested following an exchange of gunfire in Bloomington that left one person injured Wednesday afternoon.

Police officers were dispatched to Carbon31 apartments, 8100 31st Ave., at approximately 1:40 p.m. Sept. 9 following reports that two groups were exchanging gunfire. As officers arrived at the scene, a vehicle fled, according to Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges.

Although the vehicle began to flee, an officer executed a PIT maneuver before the suspects could reach the freeway, resulting in the arrest of a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, one of whom was holding a handgun at the time of their arrest, Hodges said…
