The former treasurer of a Minnesota Lions Club chapter is facing felony theft charges for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars of the club’s money.
Anoka County prosecutors say Virginia Ilene Hestekind, 86, of Circle Pines, committed those crimes while serving as the treasurer of the Circle Pines Lexington Lions Club from 2018 through 2025.
Police began investigating Hestekind after another club official came forward in September 2025, reporting she made more than $58,000 unauthorized cash withdrawals during her tenure and was in charge of the Lions Club debit card…
