A 76-year-old Elk River woman died Sept. 14 after the vehicle she was driving left a residential property, crossed Yale Street and struck a tree in the 16,000 block of Yale Street.
Officers responded to the crash around 12:07 p.m. and found the woman unconscious, not breathing and without a detectable pulse. Officers removed her from the vehicle so lifesaving measures could be performed. CPR and emergency ventilation were provided with assistance from firefighters and paramedics, but the woman was later pronounced dead.
A family member provided a recorded statement, and detectives took over the investigation. The circumstances surrounding the crash remained under investigation…
