Bust out your best bucket of blood; it’s Halloween season.
There are a wild number of creeped-out events taking place throughout OCtober, and we’re here to aid your quest to maximize fall fun.
Here are 13 of the best Halloween activities taking place around the Twin Cities this year. (Ok, it’s more than 13, really, but there are just too many fun things to do.)
Twin Cities Ballet presents “Phantom of the Opera”
The Twin Cities Ballet will premiere its new “Phantom of the Opera” on Halloween. It’s a reimagining of the classic story, led by artistic directors Denise Vogt and Rick Vogt and featuring multimedia elements and projections by Peter Morrow. Oct. 31–Nov. 1 at The Fitzgerald Theater, 10 E Exchange St., St. Paul
Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular
The Minnesota Zoo’s annual trail o’ pumpkins is back with a trivia theme. It’s a distinctive twist on the event, featuring more than 5,000 illuminated jack-o’-lanterns along a path through the zoo. Many of those are artist-crafted and are stunning in their detail. This year, the zoo will also be offering three adults-only nights on the trail. Sept. 25–Nov. 1 at Minnesota Zoo, 13000 Zoo Blvd., Apple Valley
“Clue”
The Broadway rendition of “Clue” is not quite a Halloween tale, but it’s a bit Halloween-coded with its murder mystery, black humor, and creepy old mansion. The production, based on the 1985 movie, comes to Minneapolis as part of the Broadway on Hennepin season this month, and it’s well-timed for some fall fun. Oct. 9–11 at Orpheum Theatre, 910 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis
Travail’s Haunted Basement
The annual haunted dinner at Travail Kitchen & Amusements is back in the Robbinsdale restaurant’s Basement Bar. This go-round, it’s called the “Annual Harvest Supper,” with Halloween-themed antics and the expected multi-course tasting menu. Since it usually sells out, Travail has already added dates, running the event from Sept. 24 to Nov. 7. Travail Kitchen & Amusements, 4134 Hubbard Ave. N, Robbinsdale
Lit-eerie-ary events
The literary-minded aren’t left out of the Halloween festivities. There are multiple book fairs and events that can infuse some horror in your reading regimen…
